It's no secret that Skoda used to have a somewhat less than impressive reputation. But, that's all changed now. Skoda has risen, phoenix-like, from the ashes of the past to soar to the very top of their game. Their cars are now always worth considering when you're deciding what your next drive will be.
The Skoda Kamiq Hatchback is a small SUV but bigger than most of its rivals in the same class. That means that you get all the versatility, room and rugged looks of an SUV, but also one that's small enough to tackle town in without any size-related headaches.
The Kamiq is a car for all occasions, within reason. It's widely considered one of the best-riding cars in the small SUV class. You can also choose to add Dynamic Chassis Control, giving you the option of stiffening or softening the suspension depending on the road surface. If you want to glide over every single road imperfection, that's worth considering. But, the standard suspension is so good, you're probably going to be pretty impressed without the addition.
What's more, Skoda has sprinkled their own little magic touches all over the Kamiq. For a start, you can choose to have hidden rubber strips on the outside edges of the doors that pop out when you open up perfect to stop you banging into the car parked next to you. When you think about how irksome this problem is 'especially in tighter car parks' it's a wonder this solution hasn't gone mainstream yet. You'll also find an umbrella in the door, an ice scraper in the fuel cap and some versions have a rechargeable torch ready for action in the boot. All very handy indeed and all very typical of today's Skoda.
